My Feet Were Made For Walking Part 1

About two years ago I started wearing a zip fitbit.  I checked my account Thursday, May 4th and discovered that in a span of two years I have walked 4,680,564 steps.  That is 2,047 miles.  I have earned 713 online daily step awards and 9 Lifetime Distance awards.  I have earned badges that represent marathons that I have never hear of, such as, the Penguin March (70 Miles), The London Underground (250 miles) Serengeti (500 Miles) the Great Barrier Reef (1600 miles) and others.

My highest steps day was a Harvest Blast and I walked over 25,000 steps.  In the last 30 days, the average calories burned per day was 1,800 calories.

I walk most of the time.  I realized that I don’t sit down much.  Now, I don’t walk on purpose, or make myself walk – I just walk to get done what needs to be done.

As time has passed so quickly in my life, I have learned to walk by faith.  Faith in a God who has always been faithful to me and my family.  It is a purposeful walk.  My faith is not outcome based but is based in the perfect character of a loving God.

I may walk through valleys
as dark as death,
but I won’t be afraid
— Psalm 23:4

I will walk as the hind who is able to walk and run on a rocky mountain path and not fall.   I will walk surefooted through ALL events in my life.  My faith walk is does not waiver based on health, relationships, sorrow or joy.  My faith walk is based in the one who gave me legs and a faith to stand on.

The Cityhope Schools program is Friday night, May 19th.  As I teach we can hear all of the classes practice for the performance.  I hear the little preschool sing this song, You are so Faithful’, and as I am in class I have to work hard to keep tears from flowing.  It says why I have chosen a walk of faith.  God is always faithful.
