Faithfulness. It's one of my most favorite attributes of God to focus on. Because as life continues to evolve around me, as relationships change, as children grow, as work increases and decreases, as passions and hobbies ebb and flow, the one thing that remains constant in my life is God's love. I know that because I'm promised that. And in today's reading, which includes Psalms 136, we get a passage of scripture that hammers this home. Again, and again, and again, and again, and...well, you get the idea. Pastor Ted always says from the pulpit that repetition is the best form of learning. If you don't have the phrase "His love endures forever" embedded in your brain after today, you and I weren't on the same page. Literally.
Twenty six times shouts of praise are echoed with "His love endures forever." Twenty six ways to remember who God was, is and forever will be, are echoed with "His love endures forever." And I love that a third of the way through the #BibleIn365, the foundation of scripture, the beginning of our journey at the start of the new year, is still being heavily referenced. This is a book with a continuous story and I'm appreciating that more and more as we read further along.
I'm always reminded of some of my favorite praise and worship songs when spending time in the Psalms. It's no secret that so many choruses are rooted from this portion of the Bible and today is no exception. So just as the praise does the talking in these verses, let's allow the music that has been inspired by today's reading do the talking for this blog entry. Hit play and celebrate this truth with me.
His love endures forever.
