Has there ever been a time in your life where you have asked yourself if you are in the right place, or if you even belong? I think it is safe to say that every human, at one time or another, has asked themselves a similar question. Many times God will speak something to us, share a truth with us, give us a vision of what is to come, encourage us by His Spirit…and we doubt it.
God, is that really You? But God, that doesn't make sense…how is that going to happen? Are you sure You’re talking to the right person? No God, that is absolutely impossible! I am totally not qualified for this, Lord!
I know I've asked and thought these questions myself. If you were to do a self inventory, would you also say the same thing?
Ultimately, what I am trying to share with you today is this: In and of ourselves we are not qualified and we cannot, on our own strength, achieve the promises of God. It is ONLY by HIS HOLY SPIRIT POWER that we can successfully achieve anything at all!!!!
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)
When we remain in HIM we are able to achieve what He says! : ) If we are in communion with Christ we will be able to bear much fruit! HE will do what He has spoken! If we try and set out on our own we will only get lost and will have no resources!
God also says that HE qualifies us, gives us what is necessary, to achieve the call we have been given! (2 Corinthians 3:5, Colossians 1:12) Our man made knowledge and qualifications are not enough, but HIS are! Praise God! : ) Another super-duper truth is that when God speaks and when He gives us His call, it is IRREVOCABLE!
I absolutely love learning about languages and the derivative of root words! The word irrevocable means that it cannot be changed, cannot be undone or unspoken! Romans 11:29 (NLT) says:
For God’s call and his gifts are irrevocable.
When God proclaims something He doesn’t go back on His word. He doesn’t break His promises!!
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23:19)
God NEVER fails! He is not random! He does not do things in vain! YES! He has called YOU! YES! You are qualified (because of HIM!) He does not make mistakes! Nothing is impossible for HIM!
What has God said to you and spoken over your life that you may be doubting today? In this very moment rest in the fact that God is faithful. He has placed you where you are for a reason and for a purpose. The call of God upon your life IS irrevocable! Just like Pastor Nate mentioned in his blog: God is the final authority, so who can even dare stand against God's word? Nothing! Nothing can stand against Him! Do not doubt His ability that is at work inside of you! Believe in Him and be amazed that He will do in your life as He has promised! : )
Be blessed! : )
