Meaningless blog...do not read

Daily Bible CoverCRAZY JOKE!!! LOL So Jimmy asked Suzy to the prom and she said yes. Jimmy is stoked but then he panics because the prom is in a couple days. He has to rent a tux, so he goes to the tuxedo store. But there's a huge tuxedo line at the store. Finally he gets out of there and realizes he has to go buy a corsage, so he goes to a florist. But there's this big long corsage line at the florist. Finally he gets the corsage and has his tux and realizes he's gotta go rent a limo. Jimmy steps into the limousine rental place but there's this huge line of people waiting patiently to rent their limos. Finally after waiting and making all the arrangements, it's the night of the prom. Jimmy picks Suzy up (figuratively with the limo, not literally with his hands) and takes her to the prom, but there's this huge ticket line at the door. Finally they get in and they start dancing and having fun. After a couple songs Suzy says to him, "I'm hungry," so he goes to get her some food, but there's this huge buffet line. After 30 minutes he comes back with some food and they eat and they're dancing again and then she says, "Now I'm thirsty, can you get me some punch?" So he goes to get her a drink and there's no punchline.

Today, Solomon has given such an encouraging word on life...It’s all meaningless. [Haha major Sarcasm detected]. It’s as pointless as a circle, it’s as useless as bringin’ a knife to a gun fight, it’s like the points on “Whose line is it anyway”...it just don’t matter.

I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure. My heart took delight in all my labor, and this was the reward for all my work. Yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what I had worked to achieve, everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind; nothing was gained under the sun. Ecclesiastes 2:10,11

We are talking about the man who had it all. 700 wives, 300 concubines. The wisest, richest man ever to walk the planet, looks back on all he has done, all he’s obtained...Solomon looks at his whole entire life and says it’s meaningless.

Is there truth to his statements? Is this just his opinion and perspective? Has Solomon just hit a low point in his life, swimming in despair and depression while clutching a bottle of booze at the local bar?

Jesus said “I am the way, I am the truth and I am the life!! No one comes to the Father except through me.” Solomon was and is right, but when you bring Jesus into the equation, He changes everything. He gives the meaningless, purpose. He gives the dead, lifeless, dry bones their breath. He gives our lives reason and is the reason for life. Apart from Him we are nothing and can do nothing. If we set our lives in pursuit of self we will always end up in the place we started...where we are unsatisfied, unfulfilled and hopeless. You don't need a new car, you don't need a new marriage, a new job, an iPhone 6... Jesus is and has always been what your heart has been searching for. This word is not just for baby christians. This heart is for the veterans that have served him their whole lives as well. Let us never forsake our first love. The one who holds us together, the one who is and was and is to come.

Today, let us fix our eyes on Jesus the author and perfecter of our lives. The more present He is in our lives, speaking, guiding and leading....the more we will truly live lives of purpose. Without Jesus my life is meaningless. He gives my joke a punchline.
