Those of you that have known me for years will remember that my heart and my life have been all about who God has been to me through the years, and the many times He has touched me with His healing power. The reason for this is the glorious picture of God through the many years of listening and seeing my father's faith in action. It couldn't help but rub off on me. And then when he had the visits from heaven, it was so easy for me to see the portrait of the Father Heart of God as illuminated through the scriptures to my father.
This why as I face surgery this Thursday for a valve replacement due to childhood rheumatic fever, I have such confidence in God. Not just my father's God, but my personal relationship with a papa God who has never failed me.
I so appreciated all the prayers this last Sunday. I just felt such peace and confidence that I am in God's hand. Then my doctor, Dr. Sim, who was my father's doctor, as well as my mother and myself, called me this Monday morning just to pray for me again and I once again felt such a peace in my heart.
Dr Sim and his wife, Nancy, have given out hundred's of Angels on Assignments, as well as many copies of my book. Dr. Sim and his wife both know that I am doing a Bible Study this fall, "Fresh Fire From The Father's Heart!", sharing the eternal truths about God, illuminated to my father through supernatural visitations from heaven. Dr. Sim fast-tracked my surgery so I would be recuperated in time for this fall session.
The reading this week reminded me again of the beautiful nature of God that people need to hear about over and over again. It says in Isaiah 18, "Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; Therefore He will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him!"
Then it goes on to talk about how gracious He will be when we cry for help! As soon as He hears, He will answer us. Although He gives us the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, our teachers will not be hidden from us anymore and with our own eyes we will see them. No matter where we turn, we will hear God speak to us saying "This is the way, walk in it."
Isaiah 30:15 talks about strength. In repentence and rest is our salvation, in quietness and trust is our strength. My commentary says "Quietness and confidence may be rephrased as "Utter Trust!" God's gracious character and His mercy are balanced; they interact with His justice and the fact that He will be exalted!
He says, "you shall weep no more, because you will throw away everything that holds you back and He will rain His blessing on us, wipe away our tears, light up our lives with His glory and heal our bruises."
We need to know our Father as a God like this! Please pray for me as I work on this bible study, and think of people you know who need to hear the joy and life and restoration our Father God can bring.
