Sun Stand Still pt. 4

Prayer is the arena where our faith meets Gods abilities. Pastor Ted takes us on an incredibble journey as he finishes up the Sun Stand Still Series this week. We look at the story of Elijah and the amazing faith and powerful yet simple prayer that was prayed by a man just like us. No matter what mountain you are facing we serve a God who can move mountains. We serve a God who can cause the Sun to Stand Still. God will position us to pray Sun Stand Still prayers because if fits into His plan not to show off. The question becomes will you be ready when that time comes?

5 Steps to a Sun Stand Still Prayer #1 - Activate bold faith Joshua 1:9 - Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

#2 - Come boldly before God 1 John 5:14-15 - This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him.

#3 - Ask specifically for what is humanly impossible Luke 1:37 - For nothing is impossible with God. Mark 9:23 -  “If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.”

#4 - Advance toward the answer James 5:17 - Elijah was a man just like us.  He prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three and a half years.

#5 - Give God all the glory Isaiah 25:1 - O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago.

My Next Step Today Is:

- I will memorize  James 5:17.

- I will seek to pray prayers worthy of the God we are praying to.

- Like Joshua, I will make my request to God without hesitation, believing nothing is impossible with Him. Luke 1:37, Mark 9:23.

- I will invite at least one person to church next Sunday.
