We are on April 2 and reading about David and Jonathan's friendship reminds me of the beauty of friends. I remember my group of close girlfriends. There were three of us who grew up together in this church and through Junior High and High School. Arlene Moore, Rosanne Deffries and me. Then Jan Wingett moved to Boise and our friendships continued until Arlene died about three years ago. This was the kind of friendship even though you are far apart, when you get together you start right where you left off. As time goes on you gain other friends, and there is such a special bond of sisterhood in our Heart to Heart group. We have prayed together and laughed together and seen miracles happen as we've prayed.
That's why I would love to see as many women as possible join us either Tuesday at 10:00 a.m, or Wednesday at 6:30p.m.. The friendships formed are so special. If you're lonely, why not find friendship with us.
Anyway we saw David having to pretend that he was insane to protect his life. I guess any of us would do the same thing to stay alive. But I thought about how creative David was with his music, and then his incredible acting ability to pull this act off when the king Achish knew who he was.
I love the Psalm he wrote after this incident.
I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips. I will glory in the Lord; Let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; let us exalt His name together.
I sought the Lord, and he answered me; and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.
Jesus is the best and truest friend we could ever have. Even when we let distance grow between us, when come back to Him we start right where we left off. We can enjoy memories of our special times with Him and he makes our lives radiant when we are in His presence.
Oh what beauty can be ours when we share Jesus as friends.
Blessings on all the wonderful friends young and old that Alan and I have the privilege of sharing together.
We love you.
Sharon and Alan
The memories growing up are wonderful and I'm sure that David and Jonathan had that extra special friendship until Jonathan died.
