The Natural

This Sunday Pastor Ted brought an excellent message on what can be (and often is) thought of as being a difficult stretch of the Bible to read through. We have been reading through the Laws of Moses the last two weeks which can be tempting for us to skim or even skip over when reading through the Bible in a year but Pastor brought some wonderful insight into why these laws truly hold significance for us in the 21st century as opposed to being something written for an ancient world that has long been forgotten. God gave us laws to bring order out of chaos. The same is true of our own laws here in America and is true of almost any laws that are recorded anywhere in the world. The problem we may see in our own time and world, is that Laws work better when the people making the laws are doing so with the mind of God driving the content of those laws, and sadly this is not often the foundational viewpoint of modern day lawmakers.

Pastor explained how when we begin to implement the laws of scripture into our lives just as we do in our own world (i.e. stoping at red lights or stop signs) it becomes automatic or "natural". We don't have to think about it. Just as a quarterback does not have to think about the motions and steps and mechanics of what he is about to do; he just hikes the ball and in a matter of seconds does all of those things naturally and without hesitation. Because if he doesn't, it is inevitable that he will be sacked or takled.

The scripture that Pastor Ted used this week included Deuteronomy 17:15-20 and Deuteronomy 15:7-9. We hope that you will be encouraged and challenged in your journey with Christ by this weeks message and would love to hear what God is doing in your life.
