Tut tut looks like Reign

Daily Bible CoverTHE LORD REIGNS! Let the earth be glad; let the distant shores rejoice... For You, O Lord, are Most High over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods! Ps 97:1&9 It doesn’t matter what your facing today. It doesn’t matter what situation your in right now. Whatever sickness your battling, whatever addiction holds you captive, whatever stronghold has so gripped you, whatever people are saying about you or your situation...

THE LORD REIGNS!

How can a man say that he loves the Lord unless he submits to Him? How can a person say they follow Him unless their lives reflect His? How can someone say he has died to sin if he is still walking on it’s path to destruction? Can a disciple reject the instruction, correction and teaching of the Lord? He reigns in the world and everything will happen the way He permits, but we must allow Him to reign in our lives.

We must allow God to reign in our lives.

All of the psalms we read today had the same theme. God, the Righteous Judge, is reigning on His throne. “He will judge the world in righteousness, and the peoples with equity(impartiality and fairness)” Ps 98:9b.

He is a God of mercy and a God who is just. He is full of grace, love, mercy and yet He is a holy, righteous God who hates evil and can not dwell with wickedness. If it were up to our own righteousness and cleanliness of our hands, we would all be damned to the eternal fire, to the place prepared for the devil and his angels. The place were there will be eternal weeping and gnashing of teeth. It is to this place that all who deny Him and reject Him will go but to whoever acknowledges Jesus as their Lord and Savior will receive eternal life. It is not magical words that will get you into heaven. It’s not a matter of religious works or steps. Jesus’ blood made the way, His grace opened the door to our salvation. Our faith is not in perishable things but in the precious blood of Christ that can purify the most vile person, the most stubborn heart, the darkest soul can find life through faith in Him and Him alone!

Now, since we have chosen Jesus, let Him begin to reign in our lives! We love the thought of a get out of hell free card, but there is more. We will all have to give an account of the things he has entrusted to us. What have you done with the gifts I gave you? What have you done with the word I have spoken to you? What did you do with the time I gave you, the place I placed you in, the money I have blessed you with...? It’s not about man’s view of a successful life. It’s not about obtaining glory and praise from man, it’s all about living lives that would bring glory and praise to God!

When He is reigning in your life: YOU CAN NOT FAIL! If you do what He tells you to do will you not be blessed by Him? Submit to Him and He will lift you up in His mighty power! Walk in His ways and inherit the good things He has for you. Stop clinging to worthless idols and the vile things of this earth. Everything must bow it’s knee to Him. When He’s reigning in your life you don’t need to defend yourself, because He becomes your great defender! He will silence the liars. He will punish the wicked. He will make things right. He will exalt the humble and shame the proud. He knows the motives of mens heart. You can’t deceive God. You can’t hide anything from him. He sees everything. “He knows the thoughts of man, He knows that they are futile” Ps 94:11. Give Him the judging seat in your life, give situations into His hands, stop trying to take the wheel from Him, Let Him Reign!

Lord, our prayer today is that You would reign in our lives. Let your kingdom come in us and on this earth as it is in heaven. Give us today what we need and forgive us of all the things our sinful hearts have clung to that are not of you. Forgive us of all bitterness that we may have towards your people, let us see them as you do. We give you our situations, our season, our lives and we say would you reign in us as our God and would we become your people. For your’s is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever, Amen!
