Easter - The celebration of three powerful days that changed the world.
Have you ever thought about your conversations being construction sites? If they are, then the words we use in those conversations become the building materials. What is it that you are building with the materials that you are using? Is it building a structure that will stand the test of time? Will it survive the earthquakes, floods and fires fo life? This is such a crucial part of our life. the ability to communicate but not just to communicate randomly. We have to be able to communicate in ways that build.
The second in a series of messages about the power of our tongue and the words that we use. Each word is a gift and should be given as such. Especially when it comes to forgiveness. Forgiveness is giving someone from the past something they don’t deserve so you can give to those around you what they do deserve.
Have you ever wondered what the most important thing about you is? What is interesting is that it is the exact same thing for everyone who has ever lived. Pastor Ted Unpacks the power of this most important thing about us and challenges us to go into 2019 with this powerful message of truth at the heart of all we do.
This annual service is a tradition that is so special for so many. This morning we celebrated the hope that we have in Christ as we heard from students that attend our school, CityHope Schools, sang Christmas carols, prayed with one another as we look to a new year, and finished the service by sharing Communion with one another as a church family.
With Pastor Ted still without his voice, he and Linda give a powerful message this morning on the power of gift giving by reminding us of the the gifts we have been given. This service was a party. At the end of the service every person in attendance received a wrapped gift for themselves to take home and a gift to give to someone else this next week as a gift from the church.
Pastor Ted inspires us this morning to begin living in Miracleland again. He walked us through all the times that God has done the miraculous in his own life and the lives of his family. Recounting events like the time he came around a bend in thr road with his family and there were cows five deep covering the whole road. They didn’t have time to do anything but call out on the name of Jesus and they were on the other side of them with the cows in the rearview mirror.
Christ is coming again for his bride, the church. We have to re-dig and re-discover this fact and make sure that we are prepared for that day. God said that he came that no one should perish. He loves you and and he is doing everything he can to connect you to the saving truth of the gospel. That is what the gospel means; it is good news.
When we are under the grace and covering of Jesus that covering is as sweet as anything the world could ever offer. In redigging the wells Pastor Ted takes us to a section from his fathers book where the angels gave him a picture of this covering and the implications of it on our lives and the lives of those we love.
We need Jesus. We need to Know Jesus. Because if we don't know him and don't really live like or realize that we need him we can't give him away to others. God's desire: He wants us to be an outlet for the life of Jesus to the world and a source of bread for the hungry to feed upon as well as a light for those in the dark.
A wonderful word of Encouragement from Pastor Ted this week. Don't miss this amazing message
