To end 2018 we had Pastor and Missionary Sue Carpenter with us one more time. She shared with us the amazing things that have been happening in India and the power of hope in the lives of people. This message is one that you will find yourself laughing at times and being challenged and inspired as we head into the unknown of a new year. And even though it is an unknown to us we know that it is not unknown to God.
This annual service is a tradition that is so special for so many. This morning we celebrated the hope that we have in Christ as we heard from students that attend our school, CityHope Schools, sang Christmas carols, prayed with one another as we look to a new year, and finished the service by sharing Communion with one another as a church family.
With Pastor Ted still without his voice, he and Linda give a powerful message this morning on the power of gift giving by reminding us of the the gifts we have been given. This service was a party. At the end of the service every person in attendance received a wrapped gift for themselves to take home and a gift to give to someone else this next week as a gift from the church.
With Pastor Ted sick we are honored to have Marilyn Hume share with us from God’s word about the amazing season of hope that we are entering this month. Hope is powerful and is something that truly lifts the spirit and energizes the soul. Start this Christmas season with a renewed Thrill of Hope in your heart.
